Hello,
I've developing a pedalboard and have so far figured out some terrific avenues to tend to my power needs etc. So the dealio here is, I'm also speaking with Mr. Bradshaw at CAE, but for reasons I can't quite explain, I think VL has the answer to my wants in the board's abilities.
Question: I plan on running most of my FX if not all through the Pedal Switch and or the GCX leaning towards the GCX as I can MIDI it through the GCP 100%), this is no problem. Where my brainfart comes in is, there are some pedals I'll want to have in the parallel loop of either or both of my amps (depending if I'm playing only one or in Bi-Amp mode) and those same pedals I'll also want to run in front of my amp. Is there a configuration or a product that will allow me to hit a switch with my foot and designate between 1 to 4 pedals to the parallel in-amp loop on the fly, and then just as easily bring them back to being in front of the amp(s)?
Thanks!
Mo
Technical Logistical Question - loop to in front to loop!
Re: Technical Logistical Question - loop to in front to loop
Yes this will be possible using GCX/S.
Its probably best if you take a look at the rig example setups first http://voodoolab.com/gcx.htm and try your hand at doing one of the schematics yourself. It really helps to document things on paper

Appreciated it. I can definitely draw up a schematic, but my ? is with trying to click into the loop and click out of the loop with one action/event. Just to make sure we're on the same page, above you write GCX/S, please explain the /S.Trueman wrote:Yes this will be possible using GCX/S.

For me to write up a schematic is a piece o', but it's all about this toggle-in/toggle-out aspect of the FX within the amp's loop and in front of the amp.
Peace,

Re: Technical Logistical Question - loop to in front to loop
There is not going to be any easy way to switch the routing for any device to sometimes be in a parallel effects loop (or two!) vs. sometimes in series in front of a preamp section. There are two major problems here that I see no way to overcome. First is the likely major level change between Line Level from the effects loop and Instrument Level before the preamp section. The second issue is that the effects theoretically switched between these two locations would also simultaneously need the wet/dry mix switched between 100% wet which the parallel routing requires, and a partial wet/dry mix for the series routing.

THANK YOU!!!!! I've been pulling my hair out trying to figure this out, and Mr. Bob Bradshaw hasn't been helping either - no offence... Nevertheless, it would seem to me that this board will be entirely UP FRONT now as to alleviate any potential loop in, loop out issues, albeit I'd really like to keep my TimeFactor IN the loop, but this needs to be transportable to 1 of 3 amps and sometimes used for 2 out of 3 amps simultaneously.
THANK YOU for this information - extremely helpful... And I'll be going with the GCP and 1 x Pedal Controller to keep things clean and simple. Probably a PP2 to power most of my pedals and then a Furman PlugLock strip for my Eventides and respective wall warts.
Peace - you just made a customer
