Phantom power the GCP from Axe FX.

Hi,

I am going Axe FX next week and whilst I can still use my GCX to phantom power the GCP I am thinking of using the phantom power option on the Axe FX to send power to the pedal.

This will have to be done using a 7 pin midi cable form the Axe FX which puts out power on pins 6&7
How does the GCP work with this?

Should I use a 7 pin midi cable line this:

Or a 5-> 7 pin cable?

If you are going to have the Axe-FX provide Phantom Power to the Ground Control Pro then you would connect the wall wort adapter that came with the Ground Control Pro to the Phantom Power jack on the Axe-FX. Then you would connect a 7 Pin MIDI cable from the Ground Control Pro MIDI Out to the Axe-FX MIDI In. Good Luck.

For some reason I didn't get a power supply when I bought my GCP, which I bought new.

Didn't worry me as I don't like wall warts and can phantom power from the GCX.

The Pedal Power AC will work with the GCP won't it?
Pedal Power 2+ won't though, will it?

The Power supply would certainly have been in the box when the Ground Control Pro left here, but feel free to give us a call about getting a replacement for the missing power supply. The Pedal Power AC will power the Ground Control Pro with no problem. I hope that helps!

Thanks John- I am ok for a wall-wart- I probably have something here that will work.
I am UK voltage anyway.

There is no way to power using the PP2+ then?
I only ask because I already have a PP2+ and I do not own a PPAC.

The Pedal Power 2+ would not be a good choice for phantom power for a Ground Control Pro.
