I love my pedals but my back can't handle lugging them around anymore. The Digitech GSP1101 is going to be my solution, but some pedals I just can't live without, i.e. the Sparkle Drive, Super Fuzz, Boss OC-3 and a Korg Blackout Tuner cuz the tuner on the 1101 leaves much to be desired.
I'm going to use the so-called 4 cable method therefore being able to switch my 5150's preamp in & out and use the 1101's amp models with the 5150's power amp. I know where to wire the Pedal Switcher, but I need to know if the Digitech Control2 floorboard will be able to control the Pedal Switcher. I would look up the details myself but for the next few days I'm at the mercy of the historic land line internet access. Thanks in advance for any advice.
In addition I'll also be using a Control Switcher when I use my 5150 II head...so same question will the Digitech Control 2 Floorboard be able to control the VL Control Switcher as well? I do realize that the midi signal would come from the 1101 itself as the foot controller connects to the 1101 with a CAT5 cable not a midi cable. Again, thanks for any advice.
More metal than a steel toe boot,
Kev
Pedal Switcher & Digitech Control2
Re: Pedal Switcher & Digitech Control2
When controlling a Pedal Switcher from any source other than a Voodoo Lab or DMC controller, you will first need to send the Pedal Switcher a MIDI sysex message that will force the Pedal Switcher into GCX Emulation mode. This will make the Pedal Switcher respond to MIDI Control Change messages 80-83 on MIDI Channel 16.
The sysex startup message is F0 00 00 07 01 08 10 F7
I hope that helps!
