Hi there
I'm an italian professional guitar player..
I purchased a couple of months ago a GCX and a ground control Pro (ver. 1.02) .. It was all ok since I performed my last two shows...
The problem is this one... I turn the Audio Switcher on then through the phantom power the ground control pro control goes on... it happens sometimes (just TWO times but unfortunately during the show) that pedal control goes on but seems dont send the midi program change... and another thing is that the situation is underlined by the ACTIVE led that it's not on.... Seems likeAudio swithcer didnt recognize it.... At that point I tried to connect an old ground control that I still have with me (as back up) , and as I connect it... all back ok, reconnecting the Ground control Pro too and the problem disappear... Seems like a midi crash for some reason.... Please help me, I would like to know what 's the problem and I'm on tour so if it's happen again I just want to know what to do in that case...
btw since it happened on the stage might be some uninstable AC current? Might be a Stabilizer power supply a solution?
I use 8 loops with pedals and GCX MIDI OUT go to a LEXICON MPX1.

Re: HELP!! GCX + GCP problem ... midi?? !!
The most likely problem is a bad MIDI cable. Please replace the cable and see if that fixes the problem. Make sure to use a "5-pin active" cable. Some cables don't wire all the pins and we require this to send phantom power.
When the Ground Control Pro powers up, it sends a message to the GCX. If the GCX correctly receives this message, it turns on the active LED.

Re: HELP!! GCX + GCP problem ... midi?? !!
So I changed the MIDI cable and for three show all was ok!! Yesterday the problem appeared again.... So this time excluding the bad midi cable, I've tried to be more accurate to focus on the problem...and probably I got another two elements..
1) The Midi socket on the GCP or GCX is slightly unstable??? In this case is easily to check it out opening the case, and looking at the soldering?
2) Can a repentine low VOLTAGE current changing sending a crash status to the GCX??
Actually as I turned off the unit, unplugged the power in and midi cable then as I reconnected all went ok again..!

hi gianluca
I also did experience this behaviour a few times. what I have found out is that it surfaces when you hit a GCP bank button too early (before the GCX unit stabilizes and the red led remains on).
if you experience this again, just plug the midi connector out of the GCP midi input and plug it again. after this re-initialisation it will work as expected.
