GCX with pedals Rack unit and amp

Post by Jeff Snipes »

Hello all, I am new to the GCX and need a little help programming and setting up. After scrolling the posts I cant find anything helpful for me so I thought i would ask direct questions so it could help others as well. I am running a Dr Z amp. I want to put all pedals (OD/Dist/Delay) in front of the amp. (I have this wiring figured out). The Rack unit will be in the efx loop-TC Electronics G major (this wiring figured out). What I want to do is be able to activate each pedal individually, and also as combinations via preset, so pre set #1 could be OD, Analog delay and the G Major.

First question: The preset names for all my G Major setting I have programmed, but cant figure out how to name the loops.

Second Question: How do I program the preset to be (for example) GCX loop #1+#3 and the Gmajor (its loop and a specific preset) Is that possible??

Here is what efx I'm using if it matters:
Xotic Effects clean boost (RC Booster)
Wampler Paisley Overdrive
Wampler Plextortion
Line 6 FM4
TC Electronics G Major

First you'll want to set your G-Major up, so it will talk with the Ground Control and also get the G-Major named. That's done in setup mode. Press both setup mode buttons at the same time. Then choose Device Name/Channel, it's #2. This is where you choose what midi channel you want the G-Major on. So, if your G-Major is set to respond to Midi Channel #1. Set the Ground Control to #1 for this device and name it G-Major. Press setup mode again to exit and press yes to save.

Now, step on the bottom 1 to save your first preset in and then step on the top 1, and 3 or whatever you want for this preset your going to build. Step and hold on the Edit button. Scroll with the bank keys to find and edit your G-Major. Once the G-Major is showing use the -/NO +/YES buttons to scroll through the G-Major. You should see your G-Major changing if you have it setup right. Find the preset you want on the G-Major, hit Edit, and yes to save. Done.

If you have troubles anywhere obviously ask.

The above sums it up nicely. A big Right On! to Ted82.

...I would only add that you should make sure to enable the GCX within Setup Mode on the Ground Control Pro.

Good Luck!
