VOODOO power and GCP

Post by cudarea »

Hello --

I have the Pedaltrain Pro with the VOODOO power 2. I want to power my GCP with the Voodoo power 2 but none of the connectors fit the GCP ---

Why is that?

Are you not using your GCX to provide phantom power to the Ground Control Pro through a 5 Pin Active MIDI cable?

If you must power the Ground Control Pro with a Pedal Power, you can use...
-Any 9V output on a Pedal Power AC.
-A Current Doubler cable connected to outputs 5 and 6 on a Pedal Power 2+ with the DIP Switch set to Normal.

The Ground Control Pro requires the appropriate Red ended cable to fit its power jack. If using DC, the polarity does not matter.

I hope that helps!

well thanks John ----- but NOT 100% sure here --

YES -- I have the GCX -- and it powers the GCP fine -- however I was thinking about having a separate (smaller) rack for live.

With this "live" application I would not use the GCX so the GCP needs power. My thought was to simply connect one of the supplied cords (or whatever you call it) from the PP2 to the GCP -- BUT -- none of the connectors (cords) that came with the PP2 "fit" the GCP.

(Now -- I bought this GCP new -- and I got a power adapter with it -- but I cannot find it anywhere --- my life sucks like that way. Typical BS that I am forced to deal with on a minute to minute basis)

I guess I really don't understand the reply --

Do I need to buy a different connector (cord) to connect the PP2 to the GCP??

With a Pedal Power 2+ you have two choices for the cable necessary for powering a Pedal Power 2+...

1. A custom made Current Doubler cable that combines outputs 5 and 6 in parallel then connects directly to the Ground Control Pro. We can make these up to 36" long.

2. Our Current Doubler Adapter cable that would combine outputs 5 and 6 in parallel and has a cable mounted jack that you would connect the black end of a PPL6 cable to then connect the Red end of the PPL6 cable to the Ground Control Pro. You should have at least one of the PPL6 cables, but the Current Doubler Adapter cable is new and there is not yet even a picture of it on the main site.

You can get current pricing and order what you need for either option by writing to info@voodoolab.com.

Good Luck!
