Organizing cables in the back of my rack

Post by U2guitarman »

Any one have anything they can recommend that will help make the cables appear neater in the back of my rack? I have a Gmajor,Korg Delay, and 6 pedals in my rack that go into my GCX controller, but it all looks like a hot mess. Especially the power cables from my Gmajor, Korg delay, and gcx that plug into my power conditioner. I'd appreciate any help!

Go to the hardware store and get some plugs. It's pretty easy to cut your power cables down to the size you want, and then reconnect a new plug to them. You'll need a wire cutter, and something to peel the outer covering(to expose the 3 wires) back about 1 1/2 inches. Connect the black(hot) wire to the gold screw, the white(neutral) to the silver screw, and the green wire(ground) to the green screw. It took me a couple times to get it down, but as always practice makes perfect. So maybe don't cut the first one down to far so you can practice on it.

For the guitar cables, I use the Planet Waves Cable Station. It's an expensive approach, but worth it. There's also George L's, and others...

Go to the electrical department of your local Lowe's, Home Depot or hardware store and buy some cable tie mounts...

They have adhesive backs, so you can stick them wherever you want on the top, bottom, or sides of your rack. Use cable ties to secure your cabling to them.
