Debating on getting the GCX w/GCP system!

Post by John Price »

Hi Guys,

I'm debating on getting the GCX with the ground control pro but need a little encouragement I guess.

I have a simple rig consisting of a wah pedal floor tuner and 4 various pedals running in front of the amp, Then I have an eventide timefactor in the effects loop being controlled by an expression pedal. The amp is a boogie stiletto. I can't stand how the tone changes due to running 10' cable from my guitar to the board through the effects and 15' cable back to the amp. Will this new setup help eliminate any of that loss? How will I benefit from using this system with what I have?

Your input would be greatly appreciated.

Using the GCX will allow you to keep all the pedals back with the amp and the Ground Control Pro will allow you to select what pedals are active as well as control the TimeFactor via MIDI. If you connect your expression pedal to the Ground Control Pro you will be able to define its function with each Ground Control Pro preset. This will eliminate your long cable runs as well as automate the pedal switching and preset recall on the TimeFactor.

I hope this helps!

Is it possible to control my channel switching on my mesa boogie stiletto with just one loop? I noticed in some of the diagrams that it requires two.

Yes, using the rear panel External Switch jack on your amp connected to the Out/N.O. jack of a GCX loop will allow you to control the channel switching on any of the Stiletto series amps. A second GCX loop would only be required if you also wanted to control the Boost.

Good Luck!

Thank You!

Now here's a crazy question. Is it possible to have a delay in a loop and somehow feed it into a volume pedal to be used as a mix/level control? My delay pedal has a killdry if that helps...
