Hey guys,
I just got my GCP last night, and after spending a good 2+ hours assigning my 8 instant access buttons, and adjusting the +/- 1 offset on the patches...i dont think the end of the tunnel is even in sight! I'm barely a quarter though the 2(4x26) patches...all the while every one is still named INIT on the GCP. I thought I read awhile back that there was a firmware update that would allow quick/simple programming for the 11R? I dont necessarily need to access ALL those presets on the 11R...I will just reorder my favorites toward the beginning, then program their names into the GCP. No problem. Issue number 2...after selecting a new patch, my instant access buttons have to be hit twice in order for the LED on the GCP to match the 11R. I have 2 5-pin midi cables, can the 11R send info back to the GCP display?
GCP and 11R non EXP
Re: GCP and 11R non EXP
When you want to edit the Ground Control Pro preset:
1. Call up the Ground Control Pro preset that you want to edit.
2. Press and hold the EDIT button.
3. Once the Ground Control Pro screen changes, press the BANK Down button repeatedly until you get to the screen with the current preset name in quotations.
4. Use the DATA +/- buttons to change the character and the CURSOR Left/Right buttons to move the cursor.
5. Press the Edit button when you are done with any changes then press the YES button to save.
To make the instant access button's status match with effects that are active on a given preset:
1. Call up the Ground Control Pro preset that you want to edit.
2. Press any of the Instant Access buttons that should be on for this preset.
3. Press and hold the EDIT button.
4. Once the Ground Control Pro screen changes, press the EDIT button again.
5. Press the YES button to save the changes.
6. Repeat steps 1-5 for each Ground Control Pro preset that has active effects.
Of course, you can make all these, and any other, changes to any preset while you are in Edit mode. Each time you press the BANK Down button you will be able to edit a different enabled option.
There is not a way for the Eleven Rack to transmit preset names back to the Ground Control Pro. Connecting a cable back to the Ground Control Pro MIDI In will likely only cause a MIDI loop in this case.
There is a template that matches the factory preset names for the Eleven Rack, but if you are changing things then this will likely only make things more difficult. Check it out here...

I hope that helps!

Re: GCP and 11R non EXP
Hi John, thanks for the reply. You've been a great help!
Second question, Ive seemed to complicate my setup a bit more. I have a Vox Tonelab LE that I'm going to put in the FX loop of the 11R. 11R is MIDI ch1, TL is MIDI ch2. GCP out -> 11R in | 11R out/thru -> TL in. I will have the GCP change patches on the TL, enable the FX loop on the 11R, and disable some other fx on the 11R. I hope to use 1-2 'rigs' on the 11R, just using the GCP to change the program. I think that makes sense?
Basically, patch 02, is using my "Strat 2" rig on the 11R. It has Dist, Delay, and Rev. Patch 4, will use the same "Strat 2" rig, but only with Rev, and FX loop enabled. Patch 4 will also call up a preset on the TL (custom preset, with no amp/cab modelling).
Thanks again!
EDIT:
I just figured out how to create patch 4. Changing the instant access buttons to XMIT w/ PRST and using your steps above did the trick! Now, button 8 is my tap tempo button, sending 64 on ch1. If I locate the cc #'s for the TL, can button 8 send messages to control both tap tempos?

Re: GCP and 11R non EXP
Hey!
Is it posible to setup Ground Control Pro like this:
in bottom row - presets 1,2,3,4 and in next bank 5,6,7,8 etc (so this is kind of normal behavior?)
in buttons 1 to 8 various CC parameters - I know it was showed off in youtube videos - I have one more thing:
For example in button 1 I'd like to set delay on/off. So this is CC28. And is it set "globally"? What I mean - no matter which preset is active, button 1 change delay on/off?
Furthermore - If I have delay in preset 2, and no delay in preset 1, does the led in button 1 (stands for delay on) lighten up right when I switch to preset 2? I've had couple of midi controllers that don't behave like this, for example I had leds on (telling that delay is on) and I switched it off (led gone off), and next I switched to next preset also with delay and led was still off - I don't like this, for turning delay off I needed to kick button two times - one for "activating" delay (which was activated but controller doesn't knew that), and one more to switch it off...
Sorry for my crap english, I hope You understand what I mean

Re: GCP and 11R non EXP
Ground Control Pro presets can be programmed to recall whatever patch you would like.
The Instant Access buttons can each be programmed to control individual effects and the correct state of the Instant Access LEDs are saved with each preset so they are always in sync.
I hope that helps!
