In order to control the switcher with the Instant Access buttons you will need to set it to respond to Control Change messages. It looks like it defaults to the using the same set of Control Change messages as the first 5 loops of GCX #2. On your Ground Control Pro you will want to enable GCX #2 within the Setup Mode under Expanders. Then you will want to re-program your Instant Access buttons used to control the switcher to the appropriate GCX #2 loops. Within each Ground Control Pro preset you will then be able to disable GCX-2 which will make the Instant Access buttons controlling the switcher act independently from the presets. So what is this switcher you are using?
Switch 4 is used for channelswitching and is part of my preset(s)
Switch 5 is for volumeswitching and under an IA switch
Switch 1 is for the Klon and under an IA switch

Re: Ground Control Program Change w/Displayed Instant Access
Well, I guess I answered my own question. Went home last night and couldn't get this to work with an old ground control (non pro) in Bank4 mode. Is there any additional updates available at the software/firmware level that can make this work or is the PRO the only way? I hate to have to udgrade as I have a custom pedal board designed around the dimensions of my existing model.MusicMaker wrote:Does this work for a Bank4 enabled Ground Control as well or is it only available on the Pro model?
thanks

Re: Ground Control Program Change w/Displayed Instant Access
The original Ground Control will not allow you to disable the GCX within individual presets, nor will it remember the state of user programmed Instant Access buttons with the presets. These were both features introduced with the Ground Control Pro.MusicMaker wrote:Does this work for a Bank4 enabled Ground Control as well or is it only available on the Pro model?

what I did was disable all GXC's, add device "looper" (advanced tube tech LS4) and "switcher" (the RJM thingy I mentioned) and then program the IA buttons to send the CC-numbers corresponding with the loops/switches I need (including the appropriate midi-channel of course). Isn't that basically the same as what you recommended ?
I'm getting a bit worried my looper and switcher are not suited to work with PC's and CC's send at the same time. F.I: when I switch presets and try to keep IA switch "Klon" activated I think I'd be sending the PC for activating the channelswitch on my amp and the CC for keeping the "Klon" switch activated at the same time. Could this be the problem ?

Re: Ground Control Program Change w/Displayed Instant Access
I guess I missed the part where you have one switch on your switcher that is to be included with the presets... but the only way you can make the buttons work independently is if the Instant Access buttons are set as GCX controllers rather than re-programed to user defined Control Change messages on a defined channel. Unfortunately, because you want to have one of the switches included with the preset, I do not believe you will be able to accomplish what you want.

Re: Ground Control Program Change w/Displayed Instant Access
That's what was afraid of so I changed things around a bit. Now, all the preset-switching is done from the switcher and the IA switching is done on the looper and that works like I imagined itJohnClark wrote:I guess I missed the part where you have one switch on your switcher that is to be included with the presets... but the only way you can make the buttons work independently is if the Instant Access buttons are set as GCX controllers rather than re-programed to user defined Control Change messages on a defined channel. Only one thing now: when I switch from any given preset to another preset, all the IA switches that are activated at that time stay on (or off) but their corresponding Led's turn off. When I re-press that particular IA-button(s) the first time the Led comes up again and the switch stays on. Pushing the button the second time, both the switch and the Led turn off.
Tips, tricks ????
Thanks

...and with that said, we go back to the beginning of the thread
If you are recalling a Ground Control Pro preset that activates things that are also controlled by your Instant Access buttons, you will need to program the state of the Instant Access button indicator LED with your preset so they sync up. This is done by following these simple steps...
1. Call up the Ground Control Pro preset that you want to edit.
2. Press any of the Instant Access buttons that should be on for this preset.
3. Press and hold the EDIT button.
4. Once the Ground Control Pro screen changes, press the EDIT button again.
5. Press the YES button to save the changes.
6. Repeat steps 1-5 for each Ground Control Pro preset that has active effects.
I hope this helps!

Re: Ground Control Program Change w/Displayed Instant Access
No, it doesn't, unfortunately; none of the fx that are under an IA button are in the presets. My presets are crunch-channel, crunch + chorus, lead-channel and lead + chorus. My boosts, wah and tuner are under an IA switch. So, basically what I want is that a preset change leaves the Led's as they are, be it on or off.JohnClark wrote:Giga wrote:

Re: Ground Control Program Change w/Displayed Instant Access
Lets try this another way... Your Instant Access buttons, what exactly is the device are they controlling? Also, what are they programmed as... are they GCX Loop controllers or did you re-program them to a specific MIDI channel and Control Change message?

I'm running it in bank A and using Midi-channel 15 (non-soft switching). I've called it "looper" in the devices-segment and I'm sending CC's according to the ATT manual.
Again, sorry for all the trouble...
