Understood. Perhaps you could use an attenuator between your guitar and the front input jack, something along the lines of an Ebtech LLS-2 Line Level Shifter, which would decrease your signal voltage by 10dbV. It's just a little black box that doesn't require a battery, so you could leave it in your gig bag until you need it, then just put it on top of your rack, plug your guitar into it, and plug it into the front of your GCX.

No guarantee on this working for you, but I have used one of these in the past and it worked pretty well for me.
