Peavey 6505+ Custom Cable with GCX Help
Re: Peavey 6505+ Custom Cable with GCX Help
Would I plug the mono cable in to the Send/N.O. Jack of the GCX loop?
Re: Peavey 6505+ Custom Cable with GCX Help
The Send/N.C. or Out/N.O. is the only jack used when using a GCX Loop to control a switching function.
N.C. = Normally Closed and N.O. = Normally Open.
Closed = Tip shorted to Sleeve. Open = Tip disconnected from the Sleeve.
This is indicating which state the switching jack is in when the Loop is Off.
You can use either jack, it ultimately just changes what state the Loop LED is in relative to the state of whatever function you are controlling.
In your case, since the instructions you originally posed actually state what happens when the pin is grounded, you will likely want to use the Out/N.O. jack. This will make it so the amp is on the Clean channel when the GCX Loop is Off and switch to the Lead channel when the GCX Loop is On.

What about with Peavey JSX? I'm also looking for a custom cable to switch the channels (clean, crunch and lead) in this amp using a ground controller and the GCX. Many thanks for your help.

Re: Peavey 6505+ Custom Cable with GCX Help
I'm having a similar issue with my triple xxx. i have a custom 7 pin to trs cable and split with the hosa yyp cable. for some reason the switching used to be as its supposed to be, clean channel (loop 7 in my case) was a bypass (if it's on no matter waht loop 8 was on or off it'd still be clean). all off was crunch. And clean off but loop 8 on was the ultra channel. Now i can't get it to act like that, not sure what happened, could it be the Y cable?
