Hello!
I'm 4-loop Pedal Switcher and Commander user and I've got some big midi controllers sending ProgramChange and ControlChange commands. I would be happy to control my Pedal Switcher by midi commands.
I've found some information, that Pedal Switcher responds to PC commands, but no details. I've sent some PC 1-10 on channels 1-16 with no effects.
I've also found, that Commander responds to PC 1-10
on channel 1. Checked and it doesn't work... Checked all the 1-16 Channels
Please help.
Od maybe there's a way to modify PedalSwitcher's ROMs to make every loop responding to CC command? It would be terrific!
Pedal Switcher controlled by midi
Re: Pedal Switcher controlled by midi
Pedal Switcher (the original 4-Loop version) does not accept Program Changes. However it can be controlled using Control Changes 80-83 on MIDI Channel 16 if it is first sent the following SysEx string:
F0 00 00 07 01 08 10 F7
Alternatively, we do have a modified firmware that will force this Control Change Mode if your MIDI Controller cannot send System Exclusive messages.
The Commander was originally intended to accept Program Changes, but if i remember correctly, this never actually made it into the firmware code
What MIDI Controller will you be using?

thanks Olly

Re: Pedal Switcher controlled by midi
For what device? As I mentioned above the Pedal Switcher does NOT respond to Program Changes, but there is an alternate firmware to force it to respond to Control Change messages if you cannot send the SysEx message that accomplishes the same thing.braveheart wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2019 10:08 amwhere can I get the firmware to enable program changes?

The Commander never really got an update to enable Program Changes... or at least I cannot find one
Part of discontinuing these designs has to do with the processor they used being discontinued from its manufacturer. There is no new code being written for these legacy products.
I hope that helps!

thanks,John
I guess I need a proper Midi controller...
Are the Roland FC-300, the Ground Control (dicontinued),Ground Control Pro able to control the pedal switcher `?

Re: Pedal Switcher controlled by midi
Both the original Ground Control and the Ground Control Pro can absolutely control the Pedal Switcher without modification. Our controllers treat the Pedal Switcher as if it were a GCX.braveheart wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2019 12:17 pmthanks,John

The FC-300 does not look like it can be programmed to send the necessary SysEx message, but it does look to be able to send Control Change messages. So with an FC-300, the Pedal Switcher would need the modified firmware that forces it into "GCX Mode".
I hope that helps!
