With the Ground Control MIDI Out to the JP-2C MIDI In, you should have Ground Control Pro presets changing the amp directly out of the box... does the amp respond at all to the Ground Control Pro?

Is your Ground Control Pro controlling any other MIDI devices?

Do you know what MIDI Channel the M300 is using? Its default would be MIDI Channel 1 so unless you changed that, you would want to assign the JP-2C to use a different MIDI Channel. For instance, if the M300 is on MIDI Channel 1, you would use MIDI Channel 2 for the JP-2C. Also, you mention the JP-2C Footswitch, make sure at startup that the Mesa Footswitch is not connected to the amp. The JP-2C manual says to never have the Footswitch and a MIDI Controller connected at the same time.

Is this how you have the MIDI connections?
1. Ground Control Pro MIDI Out to GCX Pedal In.
2. GCX MIDI Out to M300 MIDI In.
3. M300 MIDI Out to JP-2C MIDI In.

Yes I know about not using the foot switch with the midi connected and I have changed the m350 to channel 2 the order you have noted is how I have wired the units thanks Smiffy

Perhaps the M300 is eating all the messages intended for downstream devices (I didn't see anything in the M300 manual about configuring the MIDI Out as a MIDI Thru)... so as a test, try routing the JP-2C directly after the GCX to see if it starts responding to Ground Control Pro presets.

Also, have you gone into the Ground Control Pro presets and made sure they are sending a Program Change?
Here are the steps...
1. Recall any Ground Control Pro Preset.
2. Press and Hold the Edit Button, release once the screen changes.
3. Assuming you have both the M300 and the JP-2C named within the Ground Control Pro, go to the JP-2C screen (you may need to press the Select Down Button to get to it)
4. At this screen the number to the far right is the Program Change number this preset is set to send to the JP-2C. (Make sure it is not set as "--"). Type in the Program Change number you want to send.
5. Press the Edit Button to Exit and Press the Yes Button to save any changes.

I have swapped the cables round so midi ground control goes to GCX in; GCX out goes to JP2 C in; JP2C out goes to TC M350 in. The JP2C now works other than the Ground Control button Preset 1 doesn’t seem to do anything and the preset button 2 brings on channel 1 on the JP2C. Preset button button 3 brings on channel 2 on the JP2 C. Preset 4 brings on channel 3 on the JP2C. I tried changing the start number from 1 to 0 but this made no difference so I have put it back to 1. Progress has been made, thank you for your help. I will leave it there for tonight and work on it again tomorrow. United Kingdom time zone. Regards Shane

Cool! Glad it at least started responding!

As for Presets that don't do what you want... like Preset 1 doing nothing... it sounds like you simply need to edit the presets to send the proper Program Changes as I was describing in my previous post.

I hope that helps!
