GCP & Eleven Rack - Instant Access Lights

Hello all, first time back in here for a few years. My GCP was decommissioned for some time, and I've just had it replaced my Marcello at East Gate Music in Kew.Thanks for the great service...
I have my GCP working fine with Eleven Rack. I can edit and assign / recall the Rigs without any problem. although here is something that doesn't seem right when recalling a Rig.
Example: If a Rig in ElevenRack is assigned to recall as Patch 01 in GCP, and in 11-Rak it has some FX units applied, even when all the FX in the 11-Rak are turned "Off" the 'Instant Access' lights above switches 1 thru 8 are all turned "On" - That's to say the lights are 'On' even though all the FX in the Rig are actually 'Off".
This means in order to use the Individual FX switches 1 thru 8 on GCP, I first have to tap them all to turn the lights OFF before being able to use them as desired, which is to be 'Off" when the FX in Rig is Off, and 'On' when the FX in Rig is 'On'. This is how the GCP is meant to work isn't it?
Even when I switch to a Rig that is on Patch 02 in GCP and then back to Patch 01, the lights are back 'On', even though they were Off when switching from 01 to 02.
LATER THE SAME DAY: Strangely enough, the opposite is happening after spending a few hours making Rigs. If I have FX turned 'ON' in a new Rig and program it to change patches from GCP, the lights still don't reflect the Rigs status...When I tap the switches they DO activate off/on for the relevant FX in 11-Rack, but they don't automatically.
Is it possibly that I have to assign all the Instant Access switches for Every patch in GCP? I thought that because they are actually working with the relevant FX I didn't need to assign them in the actual GCP patch. Maybe I am wrong?
Why aren't the GCP Instant Access switch lights reflecting the actual state of the Rig in Eleven Rack?
