AMP SELECTOR VOLUME

Post by daveferrato »

My amp selector is one of my favorite pieces of gear and I will never forget that it was repaired without charge when it did have an issue once. Anyway trying to wire a new configuration and in all the years I used the selector I never noticed it sucking much volume or tone. Just now in my studio I was experimenting with maybe using it to switch channels in my early Mesa MKI, and it clearly is cutting the volume by 30-40% when compared to plugging directly into the amp, even with the selector control fully open. I think I would have noticed this before and I realize there might be some lost with two cables and the selector circuit etc, but is there a loss of volume to be expected? Thanks much, Dave Ferrato
