2 preamps

Can anyone show me how on earth I can hook up a triaxis and studio preamp both sharing a 2 90 poweramp. I want to use the full A and B outputs on each preamp into the GCX and retain full stereo capability with them. I know how to wire the effects processors to run with them but I am really struggling with this part.
I won' be running the preamps together, I will be A/Bing them

For this you can use two GCX loops as A/B switches as shown in the GCX manual. One loop will A/B the Left channels of the preamps then run out to the A side of the 2:90, and the other loop will A/B the Right channels of the preamps then run out to the B side of the 2:90. Let us know if you get stuck.

Hi John

Thanks for the advice but I am still unsure how you connect it up. I have got as far as splitting a loop into the 2 preamps inputs..i.e. send into one input and the out into another. I now have 2 outputs from the triaxis and 2 from the studio preamp and have no idea where to put each one into the GXC's and then go from the GCX into the 2 inputs of the power amp

Sorry if i am being dumb here but I am terrible with rack systems

Actually you will want to split the signal from your guitar, or after any front end effects, and feed that directly to the inputs of each preamp. You can use the Guitar In on the GCX for this and that will split the signal to both the Guitar Out and the rear panel Feedthru. It is the Outputs of the preamps that will be switched with the GCX loops. Run the Outputs of the Triaxis to the Inputs of two GCX loops, then run the Outputs of the Studio-Pre to the Returns of the same two GCX loops. The Outputs of these two loops will run to the Inputs of the 2:90.

Hi John

Thanks for your advice. I think I know what you mean. I have drawn a small diagram with what I think you are saying, can you tell me if it would work?

That is mostly right... the loop A/B switching the inputs of the preamps is unnecessary, an will likely result in popping when switching between the preamps. You should instead use a Y Cable to split the signal from the out of loop 3 to the Inputs of both preamps.
