Noise while holding tight the button of the Ground Control

Post by Marcus »

I have several pedals connected with my GCX and I have 4 rack of effects tied near the GCX used Ground Control.
In determined situations when I exchange of preset I listen to a noise in my amp since a crack is dug.
What would be this ???
Jonh helps me !!!!
Thank you.

Here is a blank GCX worksheet... http://www.voodoolab.com/gcxdiagrams/bl ... heet_p.pdf

Can you draw in the connections you are using for your exact setup?

Well I see you have got a little further since the last time we talked. I have to know about your amplifier. Does it have an effects loop? Are you sending the Out of GCX loop 8 to the Effects Return (Power Amp In) jack or are you running to the Instrument input on the amplifier?

John, this one goes straightly of the OUT of the GCX (loop 8) for the IN of the amplifier. It goes will be the IN of the instruments.
Thank's.

I must point out that you are feeding a Line Level signal to the Instrument Level Input of your amplifier... it is this mismatch that is the likely source of the noise issues you are having.

John, which you suggest what I do to improve this situation with my equipments ?
John, another detail , this noise does not take place in all the changes of preset. It takes place in some situations of use of the pedals.
Thank´s

Well you can try running the pedals before the Input to the Pod, and route the two processors in the effects loop of the Pod. The output of the Pod would then run to the Input of your amplifier, but as mentioned previously, you will want to keep the output level of the Pod quite low.
