Hi everyone! I recently purchased a GCP and GCX to control my rack, and am having issues trying to control my multiple Synergy SYN-2 preamps. I'm currently running (2) SYN-2's with 4 modules (8 channels), and had initially hoped that I could use the GCP to switch the GCX on one bank, and switch the SYN-2 channels on another bank. I currently have the GCP setup to do 10 instant access buttons/4 presets, and have the GCX working (I think?), but am at a wall. I'm new to MIDI when it comes to controlling more than one device, but think I could figure out how to program the rest of my rack, if I could just get past this hurdle. I'd really like to be able to keep all of the SYN-2 channels on a single bank.
I would greatly appreciate if anyone has any thoughts or ideas?
Thanks for great and informative forum,
Matt

Re: How to program GCP/GCX and multiple Synergy SYN-2 preamps?
Hi there,
How are you running these in the audio path? Are you using the GCX to switch between them? Are you running 2 together? Are you running pedals before and after the preamps?
Give us some more info and I’ll see what I can help you with.
You need to add the devices to the GCPro and have them on different Midi channels etc.

GCPro, GCX, Pedal Power 2+, Pedal Power AC.
And some other stuff.

Hi Marlboro05, thank you for taking the time to respond.
I am running the Syn-2's together, one is master and one is slave. I am running a gate, OD and compressor on GCX loops 1,2 and 3, with the "out of loop 3 feeding the master Syn-2. From there, I have the master Syn 2 effects send going to the "In" of loop 4 on the GCX. Loops 4,5,6,7 and 8 on the GCX are controlling post effects, with the "out" of loop 8 out going back to the Syn-2 effects return. It then goes "line out" on the Syn-2 to the power amp.
I had initially wanted to run 8 IA buttons for effects on the GCP in one bank, and 8 presets on a second bank for the 8 channels of the Syn-2's, but unfortunately that won't work. I had to settle for running 8 IA buttons with 4 presets (1st Syn-2 unit) on the the first bank, and 4 presets (2nd Syn-2 unit) on the second bank. I have the MIDI working to switch all of the Syn-2 channels, which has been working flawlessly. I just would have preferred to have all the preamps in one bank.
If you have any thoughts or ideas, please don't hesitate to share? Thank you again!

Re: How to program GCP/GCX and multiple Synergy SYN-2 preamps?
Hi Chewie,
If I was you, I’d buy a second GCPro, send an email to Voodoo to get 2x the Beta chipset, install it in both GCPro’s. then you can run one in preset mode and the other in IA mode. This is how I run mine. One has multiple banks of 10 presets and the other has 2 banks of 10 IA buttons.
Just a thought and probably the best/cheapest way to go other than bigger controllers.
I’ve modified one of my GCPro’s, the IA one, to supply power to the first GCPro, the Preset one, via the midi cable from the GCX which is powered by a Pedal Power AC power supply. Works fine.
Hopefully this helps you out.
Cheers
