expression pedal... HELP!

I have hooked up a passive ernie ball volume pedal, via a stereo split to 2x mono cable.

When i go into a preset edit, I turn P1 on, it registers the treadle movement via numbers 0 - 123 or whatever the top is. I have set the pedal to work on a specific rack unit that is midi controllable.

the problem is... even though the GCX seems to recognise the volume pedal, I have not yet heard it working, i.e It is not effecting the sound.

any suggestions?

all the best,

***UPDATE***

I have gotten it to work on my pod xt pro. (can only seem to control volume on no. 7) i have got it to work on my digitech whammy, shifting on channel 11
but not my korg a3...

The Expression pedals are programmed for which device it will control and which parameter it will change within the Ground Control Pro presets. Make sure you are selecting the Korg A3 as the target device on any preset using the A3.

Ok, after much tinkering I can get the expression pedal to work with everything except the korg a3.
i have checked to make sure the pedal is assigned to the korg a3, so i'm stumped!?

What do you want to control on the A3? Do you know what Control Change message the desired parameter is controlled by?

I find the korg a3, a really tricky bit of kit!

I guess as an example, I want to change a wah parameter

http://www.korgaseries.org/pdf/a3manual.pdf

The manual is very confusing to me!
I can't find a section that lists all the channel parameters, like for example the pod xt pro manual does, so on the pod, channel 4 is the wah parameter. but I can't find this information for the korg a3?

all the best,

Well according to the MIDI Implementation Chart, the A3 does not respond to MIDI Control Change messages. That would be the main reason you cannot get it to work I suppose. It looks like you can only control effect parameters with an pedal connected directly to the A3 or through an FC-6.
