Hi, I have been building a home rack system. i would like some advice on how t set up the following rack units, may not need to use all the rack effects or would it make more sence to connect one effect to one pre-amp.

PREAMPS
Marshall JMP-1
Mesa Triaxis
ADA MP-1
Synergy Syn-2-- Looking into getting this one

DBX 266XL

Noise reduction
ISP Decimator dual channel Pro rack G
I want 1st channel of the GCX to be used for pedals
do i need a midi interface to hep control above ?

Re: gcx & GCP rack system set up advice.
Hi there,
By the looks of it, you will have a similar setup to mine. I’d suggest getting a mixer, I use a Rane SM82S, these are hard to find but I do believe they are the best out there. I also use a Radial Shotgun splitter to feed my signal to the pre amps and use one loop per a preamp and only the return, on the GCX, to turn the pre amp on and off. This way, you can use any or all pre amps at once and you won’t have any ground loops either.
I also suggest getting Middle Atlantic Shoulder Washers and screws to isolate the rack frame from each unit and from each other. Use a multimeter to test this to.
I’d suggest getting these pieces or something similar before going any further unless you drop a couple of preamps or only want to run them separately.
If you don’t want to go that way, you can always got this route

Hope this helps you out a bit.
