GCX and GCPro MIDI socket pinout

Post by Flynchenberg »

Hi,
I'm trying to find a locking 5-pin D-type MIDI/Din socket for my rack interface (standard 5-pin MIDI socket does not fit the D-type cut out on my rack interface panel). The one I could find and use is XLR socket and it is Neutrik NC5FDM3-L-1 5 pole female receptacle (http://www.distributedsoundandvideoltd. ... holes.html.
I know that pinout for DIN and XLR are different so can anyone provide the right way to connect 5-pin MIDI socket with 5-pin XLR socket for the lead that connect my phantom powered GCPro?
To make it clear:

GCX Pedal IN DIN chassis socket
Standard 5-pin MIDI plug
|
|
Rack interface 5-pin XLR plug(female)
Rack interface 5-pin chassis socket (male)
|
Rack interface 5-pin XLR chassis socket (female)
Rack interface 5-pin XLR plug (male)
|
|
Break-out box 5-pin XLR chassis socket(female)
Standard 5-pin MIDI chassis socket
|
GCPro standard 5-pin MIDI socket

Any sugestions guys? ;) ;)

Here is the pin out for the Ground Control Pro's MIDI Out jack.

It might also be worth noting that a MIDI cable does not cross any of the connections from end to end... Pin 1 on one end connects to Pin 1 on the other end, Pin 3 on one end connects to Pin 3 on the other end... as long as any connectors/cables you use between the two standard MIDI connectors maintain this straight connection there should be no real problems.
