My setup includes a ground control pro, gcx, and mesa boogie midi matrix. The ground control is powered by the gcx unit which is powered by pedal board power supply via voodoo labs cable. The mesa boogie midi matrix is powered via pedal board and connected to the gcx.
I was able to program presets fine on the gcpro that select the correct loops on the gcx and correct presets on the midi matrix. Everything works fine after powering on the setup but after several preset changes the gcx starts leaving loops activated that shouldn't and then eventually start sending the wrong signals to the midi matrix. If I restart the gcx things return to normal until the problem eventually happens again.
The problem exists when the mesa midi matrix is connected or not. Also the problem exists when the gcpro is connected to it's own power supply. When the gcpro is connected directly to the mesa midi matrix it always selects the right presets and never experiences the issues that is does when the gcx is the intermediate. I have also tried powering the gcx via a separate power cable with no difference in results.
This leads me to believe the gcpro is sending the correct midi signals, it remembers it's presets even when the gcx is misbehaving also.
I am at a loss for what else to try and think the gcx unit may have suffered some sort of failure.
Thanks for any help

Re: GCX stops responding correctly to MIDI input
What is the pedalboard power supply you are using? Does it have a 9VAC or high current 12VDC Output? Based on the described behavior I'd bet you are probably powering from 9VDC.
The GCX ideally should be powered from a 9V AC power supply, particularly if you will be using it to provide Phantom Power over the MIDI cable. If you are powering it from a DC source instead it must be 12V or the relays will not always activate.

Re: GCX stops responding correctly to MIDI input
The GCX is powered via a TruTone 1Spot CS12 using the 9VAC (800 mA) outlet. The same issue occurs when using a 9VAC Midi to wallwart (1000mA) that the original owner included. Also the issue still occurs when the ground control pro is powered via it's own power supply.

Lets see if we can get your GCX in for an inspection. Please write to info@voodoolab.com to get the RMA started and be sure to mention this thread.
