Dear Voodoo,

I'm a dad of a teenage guitar player trying to figure out what Voodoo hardware to purchase to control a Mesa Boogie Mark V amp, a T.C. Electronics G-major 2 effects rack, and a few selected pedals. After reviewing your site, I'm coming up with a GCX switcher, and a Ground Control Pro, and probably a couple of expression pedals. Will all this hardware work with each other if set up correctly? Is there other hardware we should get? We're new to midi control, so it's been a little confusing reading the online manuals, especially programming for different effects from the G major, but as long as we get the right equipment, we should eventually be able to figure the rest out at home. I started thru the forum, but there's so much written, I gave up. If you know a specific post i should read, please let me know. All help and advice appreciated here. Thank you.

A Ground Control Pro and GCX would be able to control this rig quite easily. The eight GCX loops can be used for audio switching or function switching. The Mark V will use up to four GCX loops if you wish to control all options, which leaves you with at least four GCX loops to control the bypass state of pedals.

The Ground Control Pro can control up to four GCX switchers as well as up to eight MIDI devices. Controlling a single GCX and a single processor will be no problem. Expression pedals can be added to control real time parameters on the G-Major2 and Ground Control Pro Instant Access buttons can even be assigned to enable/bypass effect blocks within G-Major2 patches.

Basically you are going to have one fully stoked teenage guitar player!

I don't suppose you want to adopt a 38 year old professional guitarist, do you?
