Controlling 2 separate preamps & analog pedals

Hello,

I hope someone can answer this question! For the last 10 years, I have used nothing but digital effects units, but am now interested in switching back to analog pedals. I was checking out the GCX switcher but had some questions...

I use 2 different rack-mount preamps (both MIDI switchable). One is the Randall RM4, & the other a Rocktron Piranha. If Im using a distortion channel on the Piranha, but want to switch to a clean channel on the Randall, is possible to automatically have an effect pedal (Chorus) turn on when I switch to clean? In contrast, what if I wanted to switch to clean but not use the Chorus? Would I need both the GCX & Control Switcher to do this?

Thanks,

Chris

This is exactly the kind of switching automation the GCX and Ground Control Pro will allow you to do. Any combination of your gear is only a single button push away once you create presets on the Ground Control Pro. The Ground Control Pro can control up to eight MIDI devices and up to four GCX switchers at once.

Ah I get it now. The GCX does the switching & the Ground Control handles the patching...nice!

Now Im debating whether or not to go with that setup & some good old analog pedals, or go with the G-System by TC Electronic.
