been avoiding this question because it seems so basic, but i havent found the answer.
setting up the GCP to control:
a looperlative LP-1 (midi channel 1)
Axe-FX guitar processor (midi channel 2)
i have set up the rack units to receive on those channels, i have set up the GCP to transmit for device name/channel:
1. fractal/midi ch 01
2. looperaltive /02
but how do i actually switch the GCP to send midi between the 2???
how to change transmit channel on GCP
Re: how to change transmit channel on GCP
It would be my pleasure to at least try to help you out but I don't understand the question ?

Well after getting the MIDI channels squared away then the actual MIDI messages are sent from Ground Control Pro presets. I am not sure if the above is a typo or the reason things aren't working... but you seem to have your Ground Control Pro MIDI channels crossed for the devices they are intended to control.
The section titled Sending MIDI Program Changes under the Edit Preset section of the Ground Control Pro manual will detail your next step for actually sending patch change information to your processors.

thanks gig and john. sorry i am not even sure how to ask the right questions...
first i did accidentally switch my midi channel listing here wrong. the AXE-FX is correctly midi channel 1, the Looperlative #2.

i guess i did not know for one thing that i must create presets in the GCP?
so far i have only been using the GCP , 4 presets/bank setup, (needing the instant access buttons to turn off/on stompstyle controls in the AX-fx and looping functions in the looperlative) to call up presets in the axe-fx.
ok here is what i really want to do:
I have been thinking (wanting) that when i am in the bank i need for the Axe-fx, (transmitting preset change on midi channel 1), buttons 1-4 are stomping style, then i could switch to transmit changes on midi channel 2 (to control ONLY the looperlative, then buttons 1-8 are available to control looping functions.
but i am gathering this is not the way the GCP/midi work...
the first problem here is i have limited understanding of midi, and i apologize to be trying to get a handle on it here. but i dont know where else to go for that knowledge, and my need does specifically relate to the GCP for now.
thanks for the help
Re: how to change transmit channel on GCP
Your eight Instant Access buttons are global, meaning their assigned task does not change with your presets or banks.
If you want to have presets that only affect one of your processors at a time, simply enter the "--" as a program change for the processor you do not want to control for any Ground Control Pro preset. This is achieved by entering either 00 or 128 as the program change depending on the individual processor.
I hope that helps!
