4x12 cabinet stereo operation

Post by Kev5150 »

I have a Marshall 1960A 4x12. I know that if the switch on the back of the cab is set to stereo then only half the cab works, although I could plug both outputs of my 5150 II into it. My question is, if I would like to use 2 heads, could I plug 1 output of each head (5150 II & the new Peavey Butcher) into the stereo inputs on the cabinet, therefore combining both heads into 1 cab in unison? I'm not worried about A/B-ing the heads, they would be used at the same time. Is this dangerous? How would the ohms need to be adjusted, etc.?

Thanks,

Kev

No problem. Set amp's impedance according to the label on the back of the cab.
