Will a 1500 mA unregulated 9 volt PS hurt the GCX?

Post by gravity_81 »

Hi all, I need to buy a new power supply for my GCX switcher. The one I am looking at getting is this:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/9-VOLT-POWER-SUP ... 19bcec9b4c

It says in the description this will work ok with 500mA draw pedals. I am guessing the GCX (also phantom powering a GCP via midi) draws about 800mA.

So please let me know if this PS will be ok. cheers!!!

The GCX uses a 4 pin DIN plug on its power supply. The one on that eBay ad shows a power supply with a barrel connector.

Furthermore, the GCX power supply supplies AC power, not DC power. The output rating for the GCX power supply is 9VAC @ 1000mA.

Having said that, if you're in need of an international GCX power supply you can order one directly from us via email. They sell for USD20.00. Email us at info@voodoolab.com

Hi all,
it seems that I have a voltage issue....
I bought GCX a week ago and it came with 120V, where my country is using 220....

since the authorized dealer have no GCX PS available...
I have several options:
1. plug into 110 source. will it works?
2. try to find an adapter which has 9VAC 1A output, and modify the plug.
3. try to find step down converter from 220 to 120.

which one is the best option?
