Controller update needed?

Howdy,

I am having an issue getting my Ground control to control/find my other devices, and it not seemingly getting phantom power to my control switcher.

Is it possible to control a GCX, a control switcher, a RT2/50 and a Whammy with a v1 Ground Control. Perusing some other posts, it looks like v1 could only control one device. If that is the case, is there anyway to upgrade my software, or do I need to upgrade the controller?

The Ground Control does not necessarily require an update to control this rig. Each of your devices, except the GCX, would be named within the Ground Control under the Device Name/MIDI Channel section under Setup Mode. The GCX would be enabled in the Expanders section under Setup Mode. The Control Switcher will need to be programmed to accept MIDI Program Change messages.

The main setup difference updating would bring would be the ability to upgrade the memory within the Ground Control which would allow for multiple switchers. In this case the Control Switcher would not need re-programming and would auto configure as the first four loops of the next GCX.

Power is on pins 1 and 3 when using the Control Switcher or GCX to Phantom Power the Ground Control. Be sure that the MIDI cable you are using actually has all five pins wired. These cables are usually labeled 5-Pin Active.
