Hi there
I just purchased a 20th anniversary Shiva and i am wondering how i connect it to my GCX.
The amp has a 3 button footswitch - Channel, Reverb and Boost. The amp is a non reverb model so I just use the channel and boost. How does this work with the GCX. Do I use a Y lead and 2 loops? or do i need a special cable?
Hope someone can help.
Thanks
Bogner Shiva and GCX
Re: Bogner Shiva and GCX
You should be able to use an Insert Cable with the Stereo end connected to the amp's footswitch jack and the mono ends each connected to the Out/N.O. jack of a GCX Loop. One GCX Loop will A/B switch the channels and the other GCX Loop will turn the boost on and off.
I hope that helps!

Lame... did this work for you? If not... what have you done to change channels and turn boost on and off?.

Rax,
I took a quick look at the manual and don't see why any 2-button foot switch with a TRS plug on the end wouldn't work in this situation, so using an insert cable as John described will definitely do the trick. It has to be an insert cable, though, with one TRS/stereo plug splitting out to a pair of mono plugs. A standard Y-cable with all mono plugs will not work.

Thanks nyteowl & John!
It's working. Note; For those who may be having trouble. I set the loops to normal (not to the momentary switch setting).
