Ground Control Pro and GCX Audio Switcher problem

Hi everyone,

I just recieved my GC Pro and GCX Audio Switcher this morning and have everything connected up ( I simply use 8 audio loops to control my pedals) but I can't get and loops to activate and the active led is not lit up. The Ground Control in being powered ok by the 5-pin midi lead that the store sent with it but nothing happens on the Audio Switcher after the initial zoom through all of the lights.

Does anyone know what this could be? I have been using Voodoo Labs pedals for a long time and had no problems but this is really frustrating as I need to use the setup this weekend for a big show and can't see that I've connected anything incorrectly.

Thanks in advance.

Neil

Neil,

The Ground Control Pro and GCX do not come pre-configured to talk to each other. On page 9 of your Ground Control Manual, you will see a section that tells you how to enable you GCX to talk to the GC Pro. Did you do that yet?

Thanks,

JS

Hi,

thanks for the reply. Im not with the manual right now so I can't check what pag 9 says but I've done the part where i press the 2 setup buttons then press Expanders and then turn GCX 1 on. I'veaso made sure each loop says Normal.

Is this what you mean?

ps - I can't wait to get the system working!

I talked to Neil on the phone today, the problem turned out to be a bad MIDI cable. I could hear some wicked guitar playing in the background once he got everything switching. This weekends gig will go on as planned!!

Just a quick note to say the issue is solved (as you can see from the post above)! Turned out to be nothing serious at all and my thanks can't be expressed enough to John Clark at Voodoo Lab who was not only extremely helpful and patient but very nice to chat to!

I'm now in the process of setting up the system - I'll post some pics when it's all done.

If anyone is interested you can check out our forth coming single at www.neilcowlan.com/single.htm

Thanks again John - it was a pleasure to talk with you.
