Y cable for wet / dry setup?

Post by John823 »

Sorry if this is a remedial question... Im trying to set up two amps as a wet/dry rig. I noticed in the GCX sample diagrams that a Y cable was used to split the line signal. I tried this with a split TRS cable that I was using to connect my expression pedal but only one channel came through. Is this the wrong type of Y cable? I've searched around and cant seem to find anything else. Is the solution simply soldering two TS cables to one connector?

Thanks

What you are describing having used is what is known as an Insert Cable. A "Y Cable" provides a way to split a mono source out to two mono destinations. the cable you need for this will have mono ends at all three points.

I hope that helps!
