Need help! GCX & GCP & G Major 2 & Mesa Boogie MKIV

Post by jediboab »

Does anyone live in Glasgow, and would like to make a few bucks? I have no hair left after trying to work out setting this all up. I have a G System that is real easy to program, but is kinda noisy so I bought this rig to try (as it was highly recommended) So far, I have managed to set up the connections, and channel switching. Trying to set up the G Major so I can use the Instant Access switches to turn effects on/off, go to "midi" in the set up on the GCP, and getting "Link None"???

I really need someone who has a similar set up to show me what I'm doing (or post a vid), if you're in Glasgow and are willing to come over, I'd be happy to sort out payment for your time.

I've attached a diagram of how I have it connected, can someone confirm I at least have it connected properly?

Cheers
Bob

The Link Mode within the MIDI section of the Ground Control Pro is only used when connecting multiple Ground Control Pro units together.

To get the Ground Control Pro set up for your rig you will first want to check out the Device Name/Channel section under Setup Mode in the Ground Control Pro manual. This is where you will set up the basic communication for your G-Major 2.

Next up would be to check out the Instant Access section under Setup Mode. The Continuous Controller On/Off section will explain how to program the Instant Access buttons so they recall the G-Major 2 Effects Blocks or GCX Loops you want.

The Expanders section will explain how to enable the GCX.

After that, you should be ready to start creating Ground Control Pro presets.

I hope that helps!
