Voodoo Lab Control Switcher & Mesa boogie Mark V

Post by TonyDee »

Hi;
Does anyone know if the Control Switcher will work with a Mesa Boggie Mark V ?
Mark V has an 8 pin footswitch jack and 4 ext. 1/4 input jacks on the rear.
I can't tell from the Control Switcher manual how/if this will work.
Would I need 4 cables from the Control switcher to the Mark V to control all the functions
the Mark V footswitch controls ?
The Mark V footswitch controls channels 1,2,3, EQ, loop, solo, tuner/mute, reverb.
Thanks
Tony

The Control Switcher can be connected to the four 1/4" External Switching jacks on the Mark V to switch between all three channels as well as control the boost and EQ.

I hope that helps!

I think it's safe to say that Mark V's are probably one of the easiest/most simple amps to connect to a GCX. Because the external switching plugs on the back are regular 1/4" connections you can simply use regular 1/4" instrument cables to wire up your channels(boost/eq) with the GCX... as oppose to say the Peavey 6505+ and other various amps which require a custom cable to correctly connect and operate with a GCX.

If you already own a Mesa Mark V and are considering getting a GCX, look forward to having an easy time setting it up. The next amp I get will be a Mark V partially because of this reason, the other being that they are incredible amps! ;)

So with the Control Switcher, I'll be able to control the the 3 channels , EQ and solo
but not the tuner/mute, reverb ?
Is there a workaround for that ?
Thanks

We currently do not have a way to interface the DIN connector on the Mark V.

By the way, to fully control this amp would actually require two Control Switchers in order to have control over all the switchable functions.
