GCP + AxeII, best Volume and best Expression pedals?

Hello All,
Been a while. I'd like to use 1 pedal for volume control, 1 pedal for expression through my GCP to control my AxeII. Are there any that are better than others for the desired functions stated?
Secondly, this GCP is going to be serving a dual purpose. On one hand, it'll be used to control my AxeII and that rig unto itself. On the other hand, it'll be used to control my 2 amp set up, some Eventide's in a loop, and a MIDI controllable amp.
I understand the GCP isn't the brain, just the access to the brain - is this correct? I ask this in the sense that, I'm under the assumption, when plugged into my analogue (2 amp, pedalboard + effects in loop) set up, it'll work dandy providing it's been programmed to work with the Eventides and amp. I can unlpug it, plug it into my Axe-II set up, and carry on with a different set of functions mapped out on the GCP - correct?
Thank you,
Mo
