IA access question on the GCP

In 4 preset / 8IA mode:

Can i program an IA switch to send a different midi CC value for say tap tempo depending upon which bank is loaded?

Explanation of why I would want this:
Lets say i have a bank of 4 presets per song. I want an instant access switch to send a 140BPM midi cc cmd for 1 song, next song i want it to send 160BPM midi cc cmd when i hit the IA switch.

I do not want to do implement this as a midi cc on the song presets as I may want to adjust the tempo (using a tap tempo IA switch) during a song. I do not want to default back to the original tempo assigned to that preset when i engage that song preset again.

Your thoughts please.

The midi CCs are just on/off, so you can't do what you are asking.

I guess this is a summary of what im after:

Here are some things that i like about my Pedal Board current setup:
1. The tempo light flashes infront of me (timefactor).
2. I can set a song tempo in BPM using the timefator in global mode and adjusting the BPM to suit.
3. I have tap tempo to overide the song tempo.

Heres what im trying to find in a small rack setup:
I was hoping to use global tempo mode on the timefactor and modfactor, and use the first factor in the chain as the midiclock source for the second factor.

I was then hoping to be able to set the song tempo once as the song is loaded either by selecting that song bank or by hitting an IA switch with the tempo setting for that song. Either option would send a command to the clock source to set the BPM of the song.

I was hoping to then be able to tweak the tempo by using an IA switch or external tap tempo switch plugged into an expression port. I was also hoping to be able to see a flashing tempo light infront of me.

Is this possible?

As I already mentioned, what you are asking can't be done. An IA button sends cc on/off only. And the LEDs only indicate on or off, there is no way to make them blink.

You can set an IA as a tap tempo... That is the only item you mentioned that can be accomplished.

The IA buttons simply toggle a value of 0 or 127 on the CC# of your choice. That is the basic concept of any IA or "stompbox action" control switch.

If you can store the BPM tempo in your pedal as a preset you could use all PC messages to select the presets.

Do you really need the tempo blinking light if you have the tempos already configured?

I quite often need this if I (on electric Gat) start a song and we want to play it at a particular tempo. I don't have a click track and in-ear monitors (im not a touring musician) and it would be quite overkill/complicated for my performances. I guess a work around is to rely on my memory to tap the tempo for the song in before starting it, although this isn't ideal.

The downside of using preset tempo mode in the timefactor is that if i change a delay preset to a different preset during a song (say for a change in tone), the tempo would change to the stored preset tempo. This is no good for songs that im not starting as I need to tap a tempo in to match the other musicians, ie. I would have to tap the tempo in for every delay preset change. This is why i would prefer to use global tempo in the delay.
