Global Program Question

Post by dbetters »

Hey Everyone,

Just bought my second Ground Control Pro and I am wondering what "GBL PGM" under Utility in Set up is used for. I couldn't find it in the manual and couldn't find it on the forum (that could be because I don't know what I am looking for). Any help is appreciated. Keeping my fingers crossed for a version 2 update so I link these suckers together. For now, just using the second GC pro for 8 extra instant access. Loving that.

The Global Program is an option that appears only when using 4 Presets Per Bank mode. It is a single preset that is available in all banks by pressing the currently loaded preset button a second time. This is useful for a single sound you always need to get to or perhaps a tuner preset.

I hope that helps!

That actually sounds really useful. What software versions is this available in?

Yeah that is awesome. Also, sent an e-mail, but was wondering if I could get a hold of the latest firmware chip. I am now using two GCP's--one is the older Digital Music Corp version 1.02 I believe...and the other is a brand new Voodoo Labs with latest firmware. I'd like to upgrade the older. Planning to have it slaved to the new one and using the 8 Instant Access buttons to access the rest of my GCX switchers. I am guessing that if the second one is slaved to the first that they will both change to the same presets.

OK, so I guess you have found a reason to update ;)

This was introduced on v1.10. Please give us a call or write to info@voodoolab.com for more information on getting an update chip.

Good Luck!

With two updated units (v1.13) you will be able to use them as you describe for a total of 16 Instant Access buttons. The preset changes made on the first Ground Control Pro will reflect on the screen of the second Ground Control Pro but not the other way around.

I hope this helps!

I got my chip in the other day. Easy enough swap. I didn't even loose my programs. I'm really digging the global preset function. Very useful for my setup.
