GCX + long cable runs = another buffer somewhere?

Post by rp108 »

Ok, I haven't tested anything yet, cables are on the way. But with all my pedals I am looking at well over a 100ft of cable.

With my pedalboard, I have about 30ft of cable before I hit the GCX buffer. Then, I have 8.5 ft of cable for each loop so that's 68 ft of cable!

The first 4 loops will be in front of the amp, so another 10 ft cable from the GCX to the amp. Then the remaining 4 loops will go to the send/return of the amps loop. Another 12ft total.

This is a lot of cable!

Should I add another buffer in the chain somewhere?

Thanks!

What is on your pedalboard? That would be the most likely place to run an external buffer, if you indeed needed one.

The pedal board is simple. Guitar -> 10ft cable -> tuner -> 6" patch -> wah pedal -> 15ft cable -> GCX buffer. These pedals are true bypass.

I may add a volume pedal at some point.
