GCP and software

Post by FrankieLuke »

Sorry if this has been answered already-I am new here and couldn't find an answer.
I found the software and it installed fine on Win7x64. I have not confirmed my order yet for my GCP.
Need to know if the software works OK with Win7x64?
Thanks
Frank

GCPro editor. Isn't that that the only software app for GCP?

There are many different types of MIDI software for PC, Sequence, Recording, etc. You did not mention it was an editor.

Voodoo Lab does not make the software you are referring to, and I have never used it myself.

Read here for some more info:

Hope this helps,

I understand that. I have been using midi since the 80's. Started with an Alesis Sequencer, moved up to the modern marvel Kawai Q-80, then Cakewalk Audio Pro version 5, etc, etc. You are correct, I should have been more specific with my question. Sorry about that. Bad habit of mine.
Thanks for replying, I appreciate it. A software editor is my deciding factor for a midi foot controller. I am tired of button stomping to name a preset.

Where did you find this editor? I've never been able to locate it; all the links I have found go to pages that no longer exist.
For Sale: Original DMC GCX in Excellent Condition ($275) and a far more versatile SoundSculpture GL also in Excellent Condition ($1750). Free CONUS Shipping.

...and this link goes to a European data storage site that wants me to create an account and purchase credits. Thanks, but I think I'll pass on this.

You dont have to login or create an account, just click the download button and download the file. With that said, the program doesnt seem to work that well. I was able to save presets and banks but was unable to reload them to the GCP without errors which makes the program pretty useless! I have recently downloaded "midiox" to save and backup sysex files from the GCP which works fine although its way more program than I need for what Im trying to do. I havent figured out how to save individual banks and presets with midiox, but saving an entire back up of the GCP was possible. After backing up the sysex file, I reset the memory of the GCP and the sysex file reloaded my banks and patches with no probs.

If your listening Voodoo labs, a simple editor for the GCP would be a very welcome addition!
