Hi . I have just added a second GCX to my rig , I have connected them as per manual and the active lights are both on . I can still control the 1st GCX but I am not sure of how to access the second from the GCP
any help would be appreciated .

If you have enabled GCX-2 within Expanders under Setup Mode on the Ground Control Pro it should now show up in your presets as an option for setting the state of each of its loops.
Let us know if you still dont see "GCX-2" show up when you edit a Ground Control Pro preset.

Hi John , thanks for getting back to me . I think it is a case of me not knowing how to set things up .
I can now control both GCX`s
But .
What I want to do is use the 16 loops I now have ?
I want to use the 8 instant access buttons to control one GCX then push a button and access the other 8 on GCX 2 is this possible ? .
regards Brian

The Instant Access buttons are global and cannot be made to change their function on the fly. You can reprogram them so they control any eight out of the 16 total loops in your system.
I hope that helps!

Hi John , would you happen to know if I would be able to control all 16 loops on the 2 x GCX units with A Skrydstrup SC 1 foot controller and XT + ?
Also Steen Skrydstrup has also asked me to ask you guys if the second GCX can be adjusted to receive midi on another channel ?
regards Brian

Just to be clear, the Ground Control Pro can control up to four GCX units at once. That is a total of 32 loops. This is done with the presets where you would pre-program the state of the loops in order to recall them with a single button push. A large point of this system is to automate complex switching scenarios so you dont have to push a bunch of buttons to recall a new set of pedals.
In order to use a GCX with another controller you can do one of two things.
One is to put a custom chip into the second (...third and fourth) GCX that will assign a different set of Control Change messages for each GCX unit.
Another method requires a controller that can be programmed to send SysEX messages, then you would only need to send this hexadecimal string after powering up the system...
F0 00 00 07 01 08 10 F7
The above SysEx message will auto configure the GCX units to each respond to a different set of Control Change messages.
I hope that helps!

John,
I am intrigued by your answer. I control my rack via a Liquid Foot +12 and was wondering how to assign the 2nd GCX to a different MIDI channel than 16, so I could control it. I haven't yet purchased a 2nd GCX, but I really should
The LF+12 can send SysEx with no problem
Can you elaborate on what I would need to do to get my 2nd GCX to operate on a different Midi Channel than 16, so it can be controlled?
Thank you sir

If you send the above mentioned SysEx message to you rig, the GCX units will auto configure themselves based on their order in the MIDI path. This message will have to be sent whenever the system is powered up. GCX #2 will respond to the following Control Change messages on MIDI Channel 16...
88-95 (Latching)
112-119 (Momentary)
Check with the manufacturer of your controller if you are unsure if your controller will send user definable SysEx messages.
