gcx with midi raider

Need help setting up my midi raider.

Oh it would help if i had a list of the equipment being used.

Mesa boogie dual rec solo head (3 channel) w/ solo
Rocktron midi raider
gcx
Loop 1 (compressor)
Loop 2 (gate)
Loop 3 (maxon 808)
Loop 4 (g major)
Loop 5 (mesa chnl 1)
Loop 6 (mesa chnl 2)
Loop 7 (mesa chnl 3)
Loop 8 (mesa solo boost)

So I have the midi raider set to bank mode with 5 presets and 10 IA switches for cc controls.
I was able to set the cc controls for all of the IA switches. My problem is that I want the bottom row for channel switching on the mesa plus effects assigned to the channel ( think John Petrucci). I try to set up the presets with the loop and I'm having trouble saving the presets. But I dont think the preset commands are getting to the gcx.
Lost and frustrated Please help.

The GCX responds to Control Change messages 80 - 87 on MIDI channel 16. For preset style control of the loops your controller must send a string of all eight Control Change messages.

I hope that helps!

Thanks for the response john,

i forgot to mention that I do have the midi raider set to recieve messages on channel 16 and I'm using the cc messages 80-87 for channel switching and front of amp effects. I have the tc G major in loop 4 but set up so the effects have a trail.
I set the G major to midi channel 15(which is probably wrong) so that effects can be assigned to a switch (cc message).
The other problem is that when i"m setting up the presets for channel switching plus effects, the midi raider dosen"t save the presets, even after hitting the 2nd button and hitting the save button.

I guess my questions are

1. Does the G major need to be on midi channel 16 since it's assigned to loop 4 (cc 84) of the gcx.
2. How do I save the presets so that I can have the bottom row (1-5) set for channel switching plus effects?

Thanks again John every bit helps.

1. The G-Major simply needs to be on any MIDI channel other than 16... so running it on channel 15 should be fine.

2. I think your best bet is to contact Rocktron for programming help on the MIDI Raider. What you need to know is how to send all eight Control Change messages that are controlling the GCX loops when you press a preset button.

Good Luck!
