Hi, i'm building a new set-up, and i'm thinking of getting the GCX and something to control it.
However, all i really want it for is removing my pedals from the stage and having them in a rack with my wireless- i then want something at the front of the stage with 8 or 10 switches relating to each of the pedals. I don't use any other rack gear and i don't need to program combinations of effects- i just want the footswitch to turn each pedal on and off.
Do i really need the GCX, or should i be looking at the pedal switcher units? I like the options available with the GCX (i use a guitar with a fishman power bridge and stereo output) but it might be more than i need.
I don't like the idea of having more buttons on the floor than i'm going to use, so i think the ground control might be a bit much, and i don't like the idea of switching between banks, so the commander might be a bit fiddly.

What would you do?

If you are just using stompbox's and want to create simple presets then the Pedal Switcher + Commander combination would be great. They are very easy to program, I don't think you'll have any problems.

The GCX and Ground Control is essentially the same as the Pedal Switcher + Commander albeit with a few more options, but still very easy to programme. I personally like using a rack setup because it looks more professional and is tidier.

Is there a midi footswitch available that just has eight (or ten, but not too many more) switches that can be assigned to each loop and turn each one on and off. But can also be left on in any combination- like having the pedals in front of you?
As far as i can see, with something like the commander, if i programme switch one to turn on loop one, and switch two to turn on loop two, when i activate loop two, loop one is deactivated. Is this the case? If so i'll soon need loads of switches for different combinations of pedals.
Does this make sense? I want each switch to control a loop independently.

Any ideas?

The Ground Control Pro does exactly that. You can set 8 instant access switches to individually control the eight loops, in your case 8 pedals. You can also set presets on the bottom four buttons!
