Piggyback a second controller off GCP?

Post by watksco »

I have a GCP a GMajor2, Timeline and a Nova Drive...and I may be in need of some extra buttons to control the various functions: Can I piggyback a second controller off the GCP? Would the Commander work?

While both the GCPro and/or the Commander can be used with external controllers, as I understand it the external controllers can only be used to call up existing presets already programmed into those two devices. Keeping that in mind, you won't gain any extra buttons by connecting the two.

However, an alternative might be to make the MIDI connection from a second controller directly to one or two of your devices, and use the buttons on that second controller to control functions and/or parameters on those devices independently from your GCPro. This wouldn't affect your guitar signal at all, and since you were contemplating using a second controller anyway, you would just need a longer MIDI cable to make the connection, as opposed to a short jumper cable between controllers.
For Sale: Original DMC GCX in Excellent Condition ($275) and a far more versatile SoundSculpture GL also in Excellent Condition ($1750). Free CONUS Shipping.
