GC Pro + Control Switcher + Mesa Roadster: channel switching

I'm using a GCX, Control Switcher and GC Pro with a Mesa Roadster combo.
For a while, I've been using the GC Pro in 4 preset mode with each preset, 1-4, in each bank, selecting channels 1-4 of the amp, using the Control Switcher to change amp channels.
I've been thinking about changing things around so that the amp channels are selected by IA buttons 5-8, and setting up the presets differently so that I can freely change channels within each preset, rather than having to change presets to change amp channel.
However, I'm finding that when using the Control Switcher in this way, I can't set it up so that selecting the next channel deselects the previous one! For example, preset 1 selects amp channel 1, but if I want to select channel 3 within that preset by hitting IA button 7, it turns on channel 3 as well, instead of turning off channel one. Is there a way to set it up so that selecting a channel deselects the previous one, as with the supplied Mesa footswitch?

I believe that the Control Switcher needs PC (Program Change) messages to recall the channel switching behavior. When the Control Switcher is receiving CC (Control Change) messages, as it is doing with the IA buttons, it will respond as a simple toggle switch matrix.

From pg 10 of the online .pdf:
"PC messages are used to recall preset combinations of switch settings stored in
Control Switcher. This is commonly done with simple foot controllers that are not
capable of sending preset combinations of CC messages.

CC messages allow direct control of individual switches from your foot controller.
For example, this lets you use instant access buttons (IA) on your foot controller
to turn amp functions on and off."

Thank you for taking the time to reply, Dom, that's what I suspected. I don't think it's a problem; I'm used to the way it's currently laid out and it works well enough. I was just curious to know whether there was another way around the channel switching and you've answered my question.
