GCP and Timeline tap tempo problems

Post by watksco »

I'm trying to get tap tempo information from my GCP to the Timeline (which is in my rack) via midi.

Set-up: GCP-GCX(out)-Gmaj2(thru)-Timeline

I have built an exteral tap tempo unit as per the directions found here - which works a treat with the Gmaj2 - however when I target the Timeline via the patch set-up the tap tempo button takes the Timeline into looper mode.....!!! :?

Patch changes work - so they are connected properly(?).

Help?

The tap tempo is obviously talking to the Timeline, so that's half the battle. I don't own a G-Major 2 or a Timeline, but as I see it the problem is with how the Timeline is processing whatever info it's receiving from the tap tempo switch. Since what controlled tap tempo on the GM2 apparently controls the Looper function on the Timeline, I suspect you need to change to the correct CC message info.
