Hi,
I don't want to use my volume pedal as an expression pedal but simply as a volume pedal. The instruction manual says to use a Y cable (1 stereo & 2 mono) for connecting a volume pedal to the GC Pro. I did that on Pedal input 1 & 2 and the volume pedal didn't work. I thought it was a simple plug & play setup for volume and wah pedals. At least that's what te manual seem to imply.
Does this mean I have to connect the pedal to my amp if I want to use my volume pedal as the "master volume"?
Also, what concerns me is the fact that I've ordered a wah pedal and might have the same problem when I'll connect it to the GC Pro's other pedal input.
Volume & Wah Pedal
Re: Volume & Wah Pedal
Hi Ecollette,
The pedal connections on the GCP are impedance to MIDI CC converters. I.e. they convert motion from the volume pedal into MIDI messages which can be used to control parameters in your MIDI equipment.
Unless you have a MIDI-controlled VCA in your rig such as the Voodoo Lab System Mix Plus (discontiuned), you will not be able to control the volume of your guitar using these jacks.
Guitar > Wah > Volume > ...Whatever....
I hope this is helpful,
Jon

Yes, you should use volume and wah pedals like you did before you had the GCX / GCP -Does this mean I have to connect the pedal to my amp if I want to use my volume pedal as the "master volume"?

Re: Volume & Wah Pedal
Ah-ha! I see you are posting this multiple places now.
The expression pedal ports are for connecting a pedal to control parameters on a MIDI controlled device. You can use Keyboard type expression pedals or standard Guitar Volume pedals for this. As jonjon stated, you would connect both your volume pedal and the wah in the audio path just as you always have done.

Re: Volume & Wah Pedal
Use an fx units cc number 7 in your fx loop and have your pedal assigned cc for volume control. I do this with my g major with great results.
