Ground Control Pro (Midi pinout)

Post by jimosity »

I am building a custom interface for my pedalboard.
Can someone confirm that I really only need 3 pins (Pin 2, 4 & 5) for the actual midi communication.
I'm assuming that the other pins are all used for power and aren't 100% necessary if the unit is powered by a power supply.
Is that correct?

Yes, it is. The GCPro has a 7-Pin MIDI Out connector, and the pins are configured as follows:

Pins 1 & 3: 9-VAC Power
Pin 2: Ground/Shield
Pin 4: MIDI
Pin 5: MIDI
Pins 6 & 7: 9-VAC Power
For Sale: Original DMC GCX in Excellent Condition ($275) and a far more versatile SoundSculpture GL also in Excellent Condition ($1750). Free CONUS Shipping.
