GCX, GCP, Pedals, & 2 amps
GCX, GCP, Pedals, & 2 amps
I just need a little help making sure I set this rig up correctly. I'm using the first 6 loops on the GCX like normal, with pedals in each one. Then I'll be using the last two to go to 2 amps, which I will need to operate with ABY capabilities. Will I need to use a Y cable? What inputs/outputs will I use? I'm fine with using the buffer, I just need to know the right way to connect all this. Simple instructions or a diagram would be very helpful. Thanks!
Re: GCX, GCP, Pedals, & 2 amps
You will want to use a Y Cable from the Out of Loop 6 that feeds to the In of both loop 7 and loop 8. The Send of loop 7 goes to the Input of the first amp and the Send of loop 8 goes to the second amp. This will give you the most flexibility.
This setup is connecting the audio ground of both amps together, so the possibility of a ground loop buzz is quite high. If it buzzes like crazy then you will need to ground lift one of the audio cables feeding the amps or isolate one or both of the amps with an isolation transformer in the audio path.
