Let me start by saying I am the most naivest of the naive at MIDI. I bought this setup this afternoon because I know it's capable of great things, but the manuals for both products might as well be in different languages.

All I want for now is for my instant access buttons to turn on/off the various effects in the G Major 2; I'll worry about making multiple presets later. I haven't decided what button I want to control what effect yet, but I can't get them to do anything other than scroll through the factory presets. When I select Learn on a G Major 2 effect and send a MIDI message, it understands and sets a CC, but it has no effect (ie, it doesn't turn on or off) it only continues scrolling through presets.

How am I best to rectify this problem? I'm sure I'm just missing some simple command to make it go.

Be sure to set the Ground Control Pro to "4 Presets per Bank" mode and set the Instant Access buttons to send Control Change messages on the same MIDI channel you are using to control the G-Major 2.

The bank modes are explained in the Utility section of the Ground Control Pro manual under Setup Mode.
The Instant Access button programming is explained in the Instant Access section of the Ground Control Pro manual under Setup Mode.

After assigning each Instant Access button a unique Control Change message you can then do the learn function on the G-Major in order to assign the Instant Access buttons to individual effects.

Thank you, I got it. As soon as I figured out the 4 presets/bank command it was smooth sailing. The flexibility of this system is amazing! Couldn't be happier with the Ground Control Pro. Great stuff.
