TRS into GCX?

Can I plug a stereo TRS cable into the Guitar In on the GCX and then on the other side run a stereo Y cable with the TRS going into the Guitar Out?

All the jacks on the GCX are mono. What is your stereo source?

a guitar with a piezo. it has a stereo output jack. i know the diagram suggested to run a stereo y cable from the guitar and put the 2 mono ends at the guitar in and feed thru, but i was wondering if i can put a trs to trs to the guitar in, and then the stereo y cable at the guitar out. but i guess it won't work if all the jacks are mono

Unbalanced, of course!

(If you actually need to maintain the balanced signal path, you can upgrade the GCX with a Stereo Mod. The Stereo Mod will turn 4 of the loops to Stereo using TRS jacks and dual relays. This will also work for balanced connections. Two Stereo Mods will convert all 8 loops.)

I guess I can try, but it is just like a normal GCX but the loops are stereo. The mod replaces the jacks with TRS jacks for a full stereo/balanced signal path. There is no normalling or any other trickery, just Tip and Ring routed and switched in tandem from a single loop. The Stereo Mod allows stereo devices to be switched from a single loop rather than using two mono loops. Typically the mod is placed in loops 5-8 but we can put in 1-4 or do the mod twice for all 8 loops stereo. The stereo loops still function as mono loops when mono cables are used. An existing GCX can be modded or the GCX can be special ordered with the Stereo Mod in place already from any Voodoo Lab dealer.
